Monkey Island
Saturday, I spent whole day to play Monkey Island 3. Why am I so crazy? because it recalls my menory.
Monkey Island(MI) is a famous game, this is a first generation of RPG (Role-Playing Game). After it was published, it affected the game market so much. I touched MI when I was in Primary 5 (year 1993). Thanks my brother, he brought a computer IBM-Intel 8088 (now it was placed in Museum) from his friend.
My computer age was started. My brother found me thi sgame for fun, for learning English. I played MI in EGA, this mean a mono-color monitor, green color could be recognized only. Due to my English is not well, I couldn't finish the gaem. Later we played IM2 and IM3.
Today, my memory is refreshed. I was a witness to see the advancement of computer from primitive to very advanced. A 170MB Hard disk drive cost you HKD1700, 2 slices of 16MB RAM for HKD3200, a 14" VGA monitor for HKD2000. What is it now ? How's come??
Thanks my brother to teach me computer, no matter the hardware and software since we played a lot, from Intel 8088 to Intel i486, from Pentium (80586) to Pentium III. Now we own laptop. By his teaching, I become a non-programming talent now, at least I know the history a bit and know how to maintenance. Thanks Thomas!!
PS: I will conquer MI4 if I have time..
