Mentor
Mentor
1. A wise and trusted counselor or teacher.
2. Greek Mythology Odysseus's trusted counselor, in whose guise Athena became the guardian and teacher of Telemachus.
For a plant to grow healthy, the framer plays a key role to cultivate the plant; for a person to be all-round, not only nurturing by parents, but mentor.
In university I didn’t get any mentor from graduates or senior even, but I got one when I was in high school already. After the HKCE exam, I was a swimming coach. Usually, I would like to read books in food court if there was a time gap between the lessons. Then I met my mentor in the food court, was it funny!!! Because my mentor was looking for a personal secretary, then I did it.
In the job, she taught me a lot on handling problems, working attitude, leading me to think of mission and vision. From time to time, I would like to chat with her when I got lost, problems, and difficulties. She advised me, even sponsored me to attend talks, lessons, and speech. By her guidance, I found what my passion is.
Now, I know she would like to train me up and improve my weaknesses, she has a lot of books, which are good for me to read, then we made an agreement: every week, I borrow books from her and deposit 10 dollars each; if I return earlier than a week, I will get 10 dollars each book; if on time, just get back my deposit; if late due, nothing I can get and have to make another deposit for new books.
By this agreement, I've finished 2 books already within a week, now I have another 2 books and will be finished soon.
Thanks Mentor
Thanks God to arrange such great a mentor in my life.
